Endodontic surgery Or Apicoectomy 

A chronic root infection of a tooth can cause a cyst to form at the tip of the root of the tooth. Depending on the size of the cyst and immune respond of the patient to this infection or these cysts may not heal on its own, after the root canal treatment. In such case, patient need to have a root surgery or Apicoectomy ( endodontic surgery)

In this procedure surgeon removes the cyst and currents the area of the infection and seals the root canal with a material (retrograde procedure).

Usually patient's recovery is very fast and can go to work the next day.
